IT Careers in Toledo, Ohio

We're always looking for talented, passionate people who want to do meaningful work in technology — and who don't take themselves too seriously.

What It's Actually Like to Work Here

We're not going to pretend Flyght is a tech giant with unlimited perks and a rooftop deck. What we are is a company of genuinely good people doing meaningful work for clients we actually care about — in a city we call home.

At Flyght, you're not a cog in a machine churning through tickets. You're a named person with a client base that depends on you. When a manufacturing plant on the I-75 corridor can't run production, our engineer is the one who fixes it. When a healthcare practice in Toledo gets an alert that something's wrong with their HIPAA-covered data, our security team responds. The work matters — and you'll know it does.

We hire people who are excellent technically and who can talk to a nervous business owner without making them feel like an idiot. That combination is rare, and we value it. We're also direct — internally and externally. If something isn't working, we say so. If we disagree on approach, we argue it out respectfully. We're a team that trusts each other enough to have honest conversations.

The culture here is professional but not stiff. We take the work seriously — our clients' businesses depend on it. We don't take ourselves too seriously. Most of us have been in IT long enough to have a collection of horror stories, and we're not above laughing about the printers.

Why Flyght Is a Different Place to Work

You own real client relationships

You're not a nameless help desk agent. You're a named engineer with clients who ask for you by name. That accountability comes with genuine satisfaction.

Toledo is a great city to grow in

Northwest Ohio's business community is strong and growing. Our clients are the manufacturers, healthcare practices, and professional firms that make this region work.

Certifications supported and funded

We pay for technical certifications and training. Getting better at your craft makes the whole team stronger — we invest in it.

Flexibility where it matters

37.5-hour work weeks. Unlimited PTO that people actually use. We're not interested in burning people out — that's not sustainable for us or our clients.

You'll work with great people

We've invested a lot in hiring people who are both excellent at their craft and genuinely good to work with. The team here is something people mention first when we ask why they stay.

"We built Flyght to be the kind of place where talented people can do their best work and actually enjoy who they're doing it with. If you're the kind of person who takes technology seriously but not yourself — you're going to fit in here."

Careers FAQs

What does a typical day look like for a Flyght engineer?

It depends on the role. For account engineers, most days are a mix of incoming support tickets, proactive monitoring review, scheduled maintenance tasks, and client communication. No two days are identical — that's part of what makes the work interesting. Field engineers spend more time on-site across Northwest Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. Security operations engineers focus heavily on monitoring, threat investigation, and incident response. Everyone participates in team meetings and documentation.

Is this remote, hybrid, or in-office?

Our Toledo office at 7430 W Central Ave is home base. Most roles have an in-office component, especially early on while you're learning systems, clients, and team workflows. We offer flexibility for experienced team members and accommodate hybrid arrangements where the work allows it. Field engineers spend significant time on client sites throughout our tri-state service area.

Do you support professional certifications?

Yes — actively and financially. We fund relevant certifications including CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, and cybersecurity credentials. We see certification investment as a direct benefit to our clients and team capability, not an expense to minimize. If there's a certification that makes you better at your job, we're interested in supporting it.

What does the interview process look like?

Typically three stages: an initial conversation with our team to discuss your background and mutual fit, a technical assessment appropriate for the role, and a final conversation with leadership. We're not trying to trick you or make you whiteboard algorithms on a chalkboard. We're trying to understand how you think, how you communicate, and whether the work matches your strengths.

Do you hire people without MSP experience?

Sometimes, depending on the role and candidate. Strong technical fundamentals and the right attitude can outweigh MSP-specific experience. If you've worked in IT support, sysadmin roles, or related technical fields and you're interested in the MSP world, it's worth a conversation. We look for people who learn fast and genuinely like solving problems for business clients.

What kind of growth is available at Flyght?

We're a growing company, which means opportunities appear regularly. Engineers can grow technically (specializing in security, networking, or cloud) or into account management and leadership roles. We try to promote internally when possible and have a clear interest in developing people. If you're good and want to grow, we'll work with you on what that looks like.

How do I apply?

Send your resume and a note about why you'd be a good fit to jobs@flyght.support. Skip the generic cover letter — tell us something specific about why Flyght interests you, what you're good at, and what you're looking for. We read every application and respond to every one.
